An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced hospital technician to apply for this post. The post-holder will work closely with the Senior Pharmacy Technician team – Patient Services to provide a safe, efficient, and responsive dispensary service. Responsibilities include medicines management service to wards at WMUH, improving the admission/discharge process by facilitating the safe and efficient supply of medicines to patients, providing final accuracy checks on dispensed medication, and assisting in the workflows of inpatient and outpatient pharmacy. The role involves managing workflow and collaborating with pharmacy staff to ensure dispensary services meet all current procedures and standards.
The candidate must be NVQ Level 3 qualified. Although ACPT/MMT qualifications are essential, applications from non-ACPT/MMT qualified technicians are welcomed. Successful applicants without these qualifications will be paid Band 4 AFC until they complete the ACPT qualification and in-house MMT validation. After passing these courses, they will be moved to the Band 5 pay scale. The role requires an experienced technician with good communication skills and the ability to work in a busy dispensary. Please note, to support 7-day working, this position involves working weekends regularly.
