Pharmacy Technician

Department: Pharmacy

Band 4 £27,485 - £30,162 per annum pro rata

Fixed-term contract until 02.06.2026

We are looking for highly motivated individuals ready to take that next step and join a forward thinking and innovative Pharmacy Technician team here at Milton Keynes hospital that is continually progressing and growing.

Working closely with the Pharmacy Technician Dispensaries Manager and other members of the senior team, this excellent opportunity will suit both newly qualified and experienced Pharmacy Technicians as it will involve the post holder to work closely with multiple teams and be part of this exciting and developing department in an innovative trust in one of the faster growing populations in the country.

Responsibilities
  • To participate in a comprehensive pharmaceutical service within the department and to wards and outpatient/day-case facilities, and to units in other organisations, as required.
  • To assist the Chief Technician, Specialist Technicians, Principal Pharmacists and pharmacy managers with the delivery and development of the technical aspects of medicines management across the divisions and clinical service units; to support and participate in clinical pharmacy services to deliver medicines optimisation and support corporate priorities.
  • Dispensing for inpatients, outpatients and discharge; aseptic production; medicines safety; workforce development; procurement; medicines information; final checking.
Qualifications

To be eligible to join us in this role you will have successfully completed an NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services and hold current registration with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician at the time of appointment.

This post is open to all registered Pharmacy Technicians both newly qualified and experienced who would like to start or continue a career in hospital pharmacy. We are a department of over 100 staff providing pharmacy services through teamwork and prioritising the needs of those we serve.
