Waythrough in Calderdale is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our clinical team supporting people accessing drug and alcohol recovery services. You will help medicines optimisation, opioid substitution treatment and harm reduction, delivering patient-centred care with a multidisciplinary team.

You will dispense and administer medicines where appropriate, maintain accurate records and contribute to safety, governance and audits while supporting people on their recovery journey.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC.
• NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
• Post-qualification experience in community, primary or secondary care.
• Experience giving medicines-related advice and safe medicines management.
• Knowledge of Controlled Drugs regulations and medicines optimisation.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilités

• Support the safe and effective use of medicines across the service.
• Dispense and administer medicines as appropriate and within competencies.
• Support safe management of controlled drugs, medicines and stock.
• Provide medication advice to people and other healthcare professionals.
• Support prescribing, treatment reviews and medicines optimisation.
• Contribute to opioid substitution treatment.
• Undertake health assessments and basic observations.
• Support BBV screening and immunisation services.
• Collaborate with Recovery Coordinators, prescribers and pharmacies.
• Contribute to medicines safety and clinical governance.
