Job summary

Barrack Lane Medical Centre in Ipswich is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our Medicines Management team. The role is full-time and will support prescribing projects, manage patient prescriptions, and help implement cost-effective, safe medicines use.

You will work with GP partners, support medication reviews, advise on queries, and help develop prescribing systems while assisting reception teams with complex queries. NHS Pension and career development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Registered pharmacy technician with the GPhC.
• Diploma Level 3 in pharmacy services (or equivalent).
• Experience in community pharmacy or primary care setting.
• Confident in analysing and presenting information to health professionals.
• Experience implementing cost-effective strategies.
• Experience dealing with patients and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Supporting GP partners on prescribing projects and cost/safety audits and actions.
• Managing patient prescriptions.
• Supporting medication reviews and reconciliations.
• Advising patients and healthcare professionals on medication-related queries.
• Developing prescribing systems to ensure safe, effective and efficient use of medicines.
• Supporting reception and administration teams with complex medication queries.
• Minimising medication wastage.
• Processing hospital letters and discharge summaries for GP sign-off.
