Job summary

Nuffield Health Shrewsbury Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the bank team on a part‑time, ad‑hoc basis. You'll work closely with the Pharmacy Manager providing in-house services, assisting with dispensing, procurement, stock control and ward replenishment, and attending hospital meetings.

Applicants must have NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy service or equivalent and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council; hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy service or equivalent.
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Hospital experience of 1 year preferred or 2 years in community settings.

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, friendly and highly motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. Working closely with our Pharmacy Manager, as a Pharmacy Technician you will have defined responsibilities including but not limited to:

• Providing in house pharmacy services
• Assist with dispensing
• Carry out procurement, distribution, stock taking and the replenishment of pharmacy items to the ward and departments.
• Attending hospital and department meetings

As a Pharmacy Technician you will:

• Will have NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy service or equivalent
• You must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Experience of working in a hospital of at leastone year is preferred or at leasttwo years community experience.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong IT skills.
• Excellent people and customer service skills are essential, as you will be working closely both with patients and the hospital team.
• Be highly organised and an analytical individual, you will have excellent attention to detail
• Have the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
