Job summary

Skills4 Pharmacy in Exeter is offering a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice role. You will join a busy pharmacy team and work toward a Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship, with a pathway to registration with the GPhC upon successful completion.

You will manage medicines, provide patient advice, support daily pharmacy operations, and train with a professional team as you progress toward becoming a registered Pharmacy Technician.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English are desirable, or provided via course.
• Maths/English Level 2 tests may be required for eligibility.
• Interest in pharmacy and healthcare with willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Manage, order, receive and supply medicines safely and accurately.
• Provide patient advice on prescriptions and OTC medicines.
• Support day-to-day pharmacy operations including stock control.
• Supervise and support pharmacy staff as you progress.
• Assist with training and mentoring new staff members.
• Maintain high standards through audits and feedback.

About the course

Exeter, EX1 - We are recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice to join a busy pharmacy team. This role is ideal for someone looking to progress within pharmacy and develop the skills and knowledge needed to become a registered Pharmacy Technician.

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.

For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.

About the role:

As a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice, you will support the safe, effective and lawful supply of medicines while working closely with pharmacists and the wider healthcare team. We are recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice to join a busy pharmacy team. This role is ideal for someone looking to progress within pharmacy and develop the skills and knowledge needed to become a registered Pharmacy Technician.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing, ordering, receiving and supplying medicines and pharmaceutical products safely and accurately
• Providing person‑centred advice to patients on prescription and over‑the‑counter medicines, referring to healthcare professionals where appropriate
• Supporting the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy, including business processes, stock control and clinical governance
• Supervising and supporting pharmacy support staff as you progress in the role
• Assisting with training and mentoring new members of staff
• Maintaining high standards through auditing, evaluating services and responding to feedback

Apprenticeship & qualification:

• Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship (equivalent to A‑level)
• On successful completion, you will be eligible to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
• Training delivered through a blended learning approach alongside your job
