Job summary

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board in Newport is inviting applications for a permanent Band 5 Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team at Royal Gwent Hospital. The post focuses on accredited checking and medicines management and requires a conscientious, adaptable individual with strong interpersonal skills.

The role entails supporting medicines management across wards, outpatient services and dispensary sessions.

Qualifications

• Hospital pharmacy experience
• Accredited Checking Technician Qualification – welcome those working towards it
• NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences (or equivalent) and GPhC registration
• Medicines Management Qualification including Drug history taking/medicines reconciliation

Responsibilities

• Provide medicines management support to medical wards, mental health wards, outpatient services and dispensary sessions
• Assist with Accredited Checking Technician duties as part of medicines safety processes
• Participate in weekend and bank holiday rotas as required
• Maintain accurate medication records and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Job Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly team.

This is a permanent vacancy for an accredited checking and medicines management Pharmacy Technician based at Royal Gwent Hospital (RGH).

We are looking for a conscientious and adaptable individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to join our pharmacy team in delivering a high quality clinical service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post. Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to become a valued member of our team. This role requires someone with strong multi-tasking abilities who is capable of working across multiple sections effectively.

This is a varied role requiring you to provide medicines management support to medical wards, mental health wards, outpatient services, and dispensary sessions.

We Are Looking For Someone With

• Experience in Medicines Management
• Accredited Checking Technician Qualification – we also welcome those currently working towards it.
• NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences (or equivalent) and GPhC registration

• Participation in weekend and bank holiday rotas will be required.
• Welsh language skills are desirable.
