Job summary

Flansham Park Health Centre is seeking a trained Pharmacy Technician for a fixed-term 6-month maternity cover. You will join a friendly team, support clinicians, and ensure safe, accurate dispensing of medications under supervision of the Senior Partner.

The role involves auditing patient safety in prescribing, assisting with public health initiatives and immunisations, and improving patient outcomes within primary care settings.

Qualifications

• Confirmation of registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Meets the specific qualification and training requirements as specified by the GPhC criteria to register as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Enrolled in, undertaking or qualified from, an approved training pathway.

Responsibilities

• Support medication reviews and medicines reconciliation for new care home patients.
• Support antimicrobial stewardship initiatives to reduce inappropriate antibiotic prescribing.
• Assist in medicines optimisation and management incentive schemes and patient safety audits.
• Support implementation of national prescribing policies within GP practices and care homes, including clinical audits and quality improvement measures.
• Work with the multi-disciplinary team to optimise medicines and reduce wastage.
• Assist reception teams in sorting prescription requests to enable clinicians to review complex cases.
