Job summary

HCA UK is recruiting a Pharmacy Technician for The Wilmslow Hospital in Cheshire. The role involves supporting a comprehensive pharmacy service across dispensary, procurement, stock control and medicines distribution within a busy hospital setting.

You will work the core pharmacy operations, collaborate with ward teams, and report to the Senior Pharmacy Technician with support from the Lead Pharmacy Technician. A patient-centered approach and professional registration are essential.

Qualifications

• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician.
• NVQ Level 3 in pharmaceutical science and BTEC Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Science, or equivalent qualification with underpinning knowledge.
• Accredited Checking Technician.
• Experience of working within a pharmacy as a qualified technician.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the provision of a comprehensive pharmacy service across dispensary, procurement, stock control and medicines distribution.
• Support ward top-up services and contribute to day-to-day running of the Pharmacy.
• Report to the Senior Pharmacy Technician with support from Lead Pharmacy Technician.

Education

General Pharmaceutical Council registration as Pharmacy Technician

NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Science / BTEC Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent qualification

Accredited Checking Technician

Role: Pharmacy Technician

Location: The Wilmslow Hospital, Manchester

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, 0900-1700.

Contract Type: Permanent

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at The Wilmslow Hospital, rated “Outstanding” by the CQC. The hospital offers expert treatment across a wide range of specialties, including women's health, orthopaedics, and general medicine, supporting patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

As a key member of the Pharmacy Team, you will assist in the provision of a comprehensive pharmacy service which consistently meet the needs of all service users. You will be responsible for working across all aspects of the core pharmacy operations, which may include dispensary, pharmacy procurement, stock control and management, medicines distribution and ward top-up services. You will contribute to the day to day running of the Pharmacy and will report to the Senior Pharmacy Technician with support from Lead Pharmacy Technician.
