Job summary

The Princess Grace Hospital in Central London is seeking a Lead Pharmacy Technician to join the pharmacy team. You will lead a small team (4-5 technicians and assistants) and oversee dispensary, purchasing, stock control and medicines distribution, contributing to service development and workforce planning.

With ACPT and GPHC registration, hospital experience, and a track record in education and supervising colleagues, you will drive improvements using KPIs and audits.

Qualifications

  • BTEC / NVQ Level 3 qualification in Pharmaceutical Science / Pharmacy Service Skills (or equivalent) and registered with the GPHC.
  • ACPT accreditation.
  • Experience working in a hospital pharmacy setting as a registered pharmacy technician.
  • Experience providing education & training.
  • Experience supervising junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 4-5 Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Assistants to deliver core operations (dispensary, purchasing, stock control, medicines distribution).
  • Collaborate with Pharmacy Leadership to support service development and workforce planning; use KPIs, audits and financial data to drive improvements.
  • Take a lead role in ensuring high-quality patient care and operational excellence across the service.

Role: Lead Pharmacy Technician

Location: The Princess Grace Hospital, Central London

Hours: Full-time 37.5 hours per week between Monday-Friday, with contribution to weekend and on-call on a rota basis

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: Competitive Depending on Experience (with Excellent Benefits)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team at The Princess Grace Hospital, currently rated "Good" by the CQC. The Princess Grace Hospital, part of the world-renowned HCA Healthcare UK, offers a range of specialist services including complex surgery, medical and intensive care.

The successful postholder will be line managing and working with a team of 4-5 Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Assistants to ensure all aspects of the core operations are delivered, including dispensary, purchasing, stock control and medicines distribution. You will also work closely with the Pharmacy Leadership team to support service development, contribute to workforce planning, and utilise KPIs, audit and financial data to drive continuous improvement across the service.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Pharmacy Technician ready to take the next step into a leadership role within a dynamic and growing service.

What You’ll Bring
