A leading healthcare provider is seeking a pharmacy technician to join their Primary Care team in Crewe. The role involves managing prescriptions, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and ensuring safe medication practices. We are looking to appoint a pharmacy technician to cover 28-37.5 hours per week.
This is an exciting role for the right pharmacy technician to join our Primary Care team. We are seeking someone with a planned and organized approach, the ability to prioritize their workload, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Pharmacy technicians play an important role, complementing clinical pharmacists, community pharmacists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team. Their core responsibilities include clinical, technical, and administrative tasks. The purpose of the role is to lead improvements that maximize safe, cost-effective practices in prescribing to enhance patient care.
The post holder must have a professional registration with GPhC, BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences, and evidence of continued professional development (CPD). Experience as a qualified, registered pharmacy technician in primary care, community, or hospital pharmacy is required. Duties include managing requests for urgent repeat prescriptions, reconciling medicines post-discharge from hospitals or intermediate care, and improving repeat prescribing processes, including promoting repeat dispensing and online ordering.
Grosvenor is an innovative practice across two sites caring for 15,000 patients. It is part of the Grosvenor, Hungerford, Ropegreen Primary Care Network, providing a strong foundation for high-quality, place-based care in south Cheshire.
The practice has 5 GP partners, 2 salaried GPs, 2 advanced clinical practitioners, 1 ACP trainee, 1 clinical pharmacist, 1 pharmacy technician, and a well-established practice nursing team, including HCAs and general practice assistants. We work closely with community teams and have first contact practitioners within the practice.
Our practice fosters a strong ethos of mutual support and teamwork, with regular meetings to discuss clinical cases and structured educational sessions. We are also a training practice for GP registrars, F2s, medical, and nursing students. We are committed to developing new ways of working across primary care, including hosting the weekend hub for South Cheshire patients and collaborating with other practices within our local care community to support initiatives like frailty and well-being clinics.
Our Clinical Pharmacy in General Practice program aims to develop a new model of person-centered, coordinated care, supported by national policies like the Five Year Forward View and GP Forward View. Pharmacy's role is to proactively help patients stay safe and well, reduce hospital admissions, and lessen the workload of general practice.
