Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust in Salisbury is seeking a friendly and proactive ward-based pharmacy assistant to join our clinical pharmacy team. The role involves supporting medicines supply across inpatient wards and the pre-operative clinic, using the electronic prescribing system on a daily basis.
We offer training for the right candidate, a Monday to Friday pattern 8.30am–5pm with no late nights, plus weekend rotation every 8 weeks, and NHS benefits including generous holiday entitlement
Come and join our friendly and motivated clinical pharmacy team at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. The team are patient-facing, valued members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), providing medicines services across inpatient wards and the pre-operative clinic. This role focuses on facilitating efficient discharges, supply of medications and effectively managing medication returns for re-use. The team work closely and consists of pharmacists, technicians and support workers. We work Monday to Friday 8.30am until 5pm, with no late night rota. We work 1 in 8 weekends with 1 Bank Holiday commitment per year. The weekend hours are: Saturday- 9.00am until 1pm and Sunday- 9.30am until 1pm, with a day off the following week. The successful candidate should be friendly, professional, organised, proactive and patient focused. The role is almost entirely ward based, using a laptop throughout the day to access the electronic prescribing system. The role also involves manual handling; occasional lifting boxes and the need to move from ward to dispensary frequently throughout the day. Previous experience of working in a pharmacy would be beneficial but not essential as all training can be provided for the right candidate.
