Job summary

Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a capable supervisor to oversee the Pharmacy Procurement and Distribution department, supporting the efficient procurement and distribution of medicines across wards and departments, and ensuring compliance with SOPs and MHRA guidance.

This is a Band 4 to Band 5 progression post with mentorship and a clear development plan, requiring GPhC registration, hospital experience, and experience with the CMM (JAC) system.

Qualifications

  • NVQ and BTec level 3 or apprenticeship in Pharmaceutical science required.
  • Registration with GPhC is mandatory.
  • Experience with Final accuracy Checking (ACPT) and hospital pharmacy settings.
  • Experience using CMM (JAC) pharmacy computer system.
  • Line management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Pharmacy Procurement and Distribution department, ensuring efficient procurement and distribution of medicines.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, MHRA guidance, COSHH and lifting/handling regulations.
  • Supervise and train operational staff within the procurement and distribution department.
  • Maintain stock availability and cost-effective, safe pharmacy services.

This is a structured progression post from Band 4 to Band 5, with a clear development plan, mentorship, you'll manage medicine ordering, liaise with suppliers, maintain stock availability, and help deliver cost-effective, safe, and efficient pharmacy services. Ensure that all legal and departmental practices including Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs), MHRA Rules and Guidance for Pharmaceutical Distributors, COSHH, Lifting and Handling Regulations and all Trust Policies and Procedures are followed.
