Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is inviting applications for a Pharmacy Support Worker to join the inpatient dispensary at Southampton General Hospital, with potential rotation to Royal South Hants.

The role supports a large acute teaching Trust with development opportunities, a strong staff engagement record, NHS discounts, and generous annual leave. Shifts are weekdays with occasional late, weekend, and rota-based work.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills are essential in a fast-paced hospital setting.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Commitment to completing in-house training within 6 months and pursuing additional qualifications as needed.

Responsibilities

• Produce labels and dispense medicines for inpatient and discharge patients.
• Assist in the pharmacy reception, answer queries and relay information to pharmacists/technicians.
• Support stock management including ordering, receiving and maintaining medicines.
