Job summary

Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s York Hospital seeks a Senior Pharmacy Assistant to join the Pharmacy Clinical Governance and Quality Assurance Teams. You will help maintain the Quality Management System, document control, equipment monitoring, and regulatory compliance across the Trust.

We value strong organisation, attention to detail and a proactive approach. The post is based at York Hospital with some travel to other sites; Band 2/3 depending on experience; training

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above.
• Not yet qualified candidates will work towards a Level 2 qualification in Pharmacy Services.
• Hospital pharmacy experience is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day management of the Quality Management System including document control.
• Monitor equipment and assets to ensure validation, calibration and servicing requirements.
• Record and monitor departmental deviations and support corrective actions.
• Assist with medical gas cylinder audits and improvement actions.
• Support temperature monitoring and cold chain management and respond to queries.
• Report product defects and follow up actions.
• Assist with management of controlled prescription stationery and registrations.
• Support controlled drugs management across the department and organisation.
• Participate in audits and support action plan monitoring.
