Job summary

Skills4Pharmacy in Skipton is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to join a busy community pharmacy team. Earn while you learn and work toward a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship.

You will support customers, assist with prescriptions under supervision, manage stock and use pharmacy systems. The apprenticeship starts 26 October 2026 and typically lasts about 15 months with blended learning and full training.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English desired but not essential, as part of the course can be provided.
• Interest in healthcare and helping customers in a busy environment.
• Willingness to learn and complete the Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship.

About the course

Brief Description

BD23 5LS We are looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to join a busy community pharmacy team. This is a great opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience in a healthcare environment while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.

Training to be Provided

Pharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 (GCSE) and Functional Skills if required.

Future Prospects

This is an exciting role that will include engaging with customers and clients to provide prescription counter services, advice, housekeeping duties such as stock rotation and stock replenishment, helping to deliver a variety of public health services whilst gaining a pharmacy qualification.

About the role
As a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice, you will support the day-to-day running of the pharmacy, helping customers and working closely with the pharmacy team to ensure safe and efficient service.
You will complete a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship alongside your role, with full training and support provided.

Key duties include:

• Supporting customers at the medicines counter and responding to queries
• Assisting with the preparation and supply of prescriptions (under supervision)
• Handling stock, deliveries and maintaining accurate records
• Using pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, health & safety and confidentiality
• Working as part of a team to ensure excellent customer service
