Job summary

Durham Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to support the day-to-day running of the pharmacy and help customers while working toward a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship. You will train alongside your role with full support provided.

Key duties include assisting customers at the medicines counter, preparing and supplying prescriptions under supervision, handling stock and using pharmacy systems, all while maintaining safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent in Maths and English desired.
• If Maths/English Level 2 are missing, tests will determine suitability.
• No previous pharmacy experience required; full training provided.

Brief Description

Durham, DH6 - We are looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to join a busy community pharmacy team. This is a great opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining hands‑on experience in a healthcare environment while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.
For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.

Training to be Provided

Pharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 (GCSE) and Functional Skills if required.

Future Prospects

This is an exciting role that will include engaging with customers and clients to provide prescription counter services, advice, housekeeping duties such as stock rotation and stock replenishment, helping to deliver a variety of public health services whilst gaining a pharmacy qualification.
