Job summary

Chorley Pharmacy is seeking a friendly Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to join our busy team in Chorley. You will support day-to-day operations, assist customers at the counter and work closely with the pharmacy team to ensure safe and efficient service.

You will undertake a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship alongside your role, with full training provided. No prior experience required; GCSEs welcomed and driven to learn in a healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent; Maths and English desirable but not essential.
• Initial Maths and English tests may be required if the person lacks Level 2 qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers at the medicines counter and respond to queries.
• Assist with the preparation and supply of prescriptions under supervision.
• Handle stock, deliveries and maintain accurate records.
• Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales.
• Maintain cleanliness, health & safety and confidentiality.
• Work as part of a team to deliver excellent customer service.

Job description

Working Week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (7.5 hours each day)9am to 5:30pm. 1 hour unpaid lunch from 1-2pm each day. Eng and maths not essential. x2 Saturdays per month 9-12

Brief Description

PR6 8RX. We are looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to join a busy community pharmacy team. This is a great opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining hands‑on experience in a healthcare environment while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.

For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.

Training to be Provided

Pharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 (GCSE) and Functional Skills if required.

Future Prospects

This is an exciting role that will include engaging with customers and clients to provide prescription counter services, advice, housekeeping duties such as stock rotation and stock replenishment, helping to deliver a variety of public health services whilst gaining a pharmacy qualification.

About the role
