Job summary

Tesco has an opening for a Pharmacy Technician/Accuracy Checking Technician. The role offers starting pay from £15.70 per hour with higher rates for stores inside the M25, and a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week (with a 12-hour option also available).

You will support dispensing, patient care, and pharmacy services while following SOPs. You’ll need GPhC registration as a Pharmacy Technician/Accuracy Checking Technician, NVQ 3 or equivalent, and CPD compliance.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification as a Pharmacy Technician/Accuracy Checking Technician.
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician/Accuracy Checking Technician.
• Proof of completion of a recognised training course for an Accuracy Checking Technician/Pharmacy Technician.
• Proof of completing annual Continuing Professional Development requirements.

Responsibilities

• Accurately completing the checking process, following a clinical check by a pharmacist and dispensing when appropriate.
• Proactively identifying customers needing help and offering information on common ailments and products.
• Taking time to understand customers’ needs and explaining product benefits clearly.
• Advise customers on the range of Pharmacy services available.
• Support and deliver Pharmacy Services and the Dispensing Process according to SOPs.
• Check dispensed prescriptions for accuracy and legal validity.
• Respond to clinical and legal queries from Healthcare practitioners within competence.
