Job summary

Tesco Pharmacy is looking for a Pharmacy Technician/Accuracy Checking Technician to join our store team. You will participate in dispensing under supervision, perform accuracy checks, and support customers with medicines and advice in a friendly community setting.

Applicants must be registered with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician, hold an NVQ or equivalent, and complete CPD requirements. We offer a supportive environment, flexible hours with guaranteed minimums, and a benefits package

Qualifications

• NVQ or equivalent in Pharmacy Technician role.
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician/Accuracy Checking Technician.
• Evidence of completion of recognised training course for Accuracy Checking Technician/Pharmacy Technician.
• Proof of completing annual Continuing Professional Development requirements.

Responsibilities

• Accurately completing the checking process, following a clinical check by a pharmacist.
• Proactively identifying customers that need help and offer information on common ailments, symptoms and products.
• Taking time to understand customers’ needs, explaining benefits of products and only selling appropriate items.
• Advise customers on range of Pharmacy services available.
• Support and deliver Pharmacy Services and the Dispensing Process per SOPs.
• Check dispensed prescriptions for accuracy per SOPs.
• Check legal validity and accuracy of dispensed prescriptions.
• Respond to clinical and legal queries from Healthcare practitioners within area of competence.
• Respond to customer queries related to prescription medicines and inform Pharmacist of complaints.
• Ensure all dispensary routines and SOPs are followed.
• Keep dispensary and consulting rooms clean and clutter-free.
• Ensure all prescription administration is accurate and timely.
