Job summary

Tesco Pharmacy is looking for a Pharmacy Technician/Accuracy Checking Technician to join our store-based team. You will support dispensing processes, perform accuracy checks and provide responsive customer care.

You must be registered with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician/Accuracy Checking Technician, complete CPD, and follow the Standard Operating Procedures. We offer training, development and a supportive environment with flexible hours to suit your needs.

Qualifications

• A pharmacy technician/ accuracy checking technician NVQ (or similar) qualification.
• Registration with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician/Accuracy Checking Technician.
• Proof of completion of a recognised training course for an Accuracy Checking Technician/ Pharmacy Technician.
• Proof of completing your annual Continuing Professional Development requirements.

Responsibilities

• Accurately completing the checking process, following a clinical check by a pharmacist.
• Proactively identifying customers that need help and offer information on ailments, symptoms and products.
• Explain benefits of products and only sell what is right for the customer.
• Advise customers on the range of Pharmacy services available.
• Support and deliver Pharmacy Services and the Dispensing Process according to SOPs.
• Check dispensed prescriptions for accuracy according to SOPs.
• Check the legal validity and accuracy of dispensed prescriptions.
• Respond to clinical and legal queries from Healthcare practitioners within area of competence.
• Respond to customer queries regarding prescription medicines and report complaints as needed.
• Ensure dispensary routines and SOPs are followed.
• Keep dispensary and consulting rooms clean and tidy.
• Ensure all prescription administration is accurate and completed on time.
• Support promotional activities and company initiatives within the team.
• Meet departmental targets set by the Pharmacy Manager.
• Assist in supervising and developing other pharmacy team members through coaching.
• Stay up to date with legal and professional developments in pharmacy.
• Register with the GPhC and maintain annual registration.

Education

A pharmacy technician/ accuracy checking technician NVQ (or similar) qualification

Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician/Accuracy Checking Technician

Proof of completion of a recognised training course for an Accuracy Checking Technician/ Pharmacy Technician

Proof of completing your annual Continuing Professional Development requirements
