Job summary

Voy is seeking a Pharmacy Accuracy Checking Technician (GPhC-registered) to accurately check prescriptions and support the day-to-day running of the on-site dispensary in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. You will report to the Responsible Pharmacist and ensure patient safety and compliance in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

The role offers significant autonomy, opportunities to train the Pharmacy workforce, and collaboration with Risk, Safety, and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely, accurate

Qualifications

  • GPhC registration is required.
  • Hold a recognised ACT qualification or be actively enrolled in an accredited ACT training programme.

Responsibilities

  • Follow SOPs and Operational guidelines.
  • Maintain compliance with practice standards.
  • Check dispensed prescriptions and manage courier dispatches.
  • Manage near-miss reports and create action plans.
  • Collaborate with Risk and Safety to root cause incidents.
  • Work with Service and internal teams to ensure timely orders.
  • Contribute to service development and patient experience.
  • Train and develop the Pharmacy workforce with the Pharmacy Manager.
  • Assist inventory management with Supply Chain.
  • Support a safe, patient-centred dispensing environment.

Job description

Pharmacy Accuracy Checking Technician

We are looking to hire a GPhC-registered Pharmacy Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) to accurately check prescriptions and support the efficient day-to-day running of our dispensary based on‑site in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. You will have significant responsibility and autonomy for ensuring patient safety and will report to the Responsible Pharmacist. This is an ideal role for someone who takes pride in precision, patient safety, and thriving within a fast-paced, regulated environment. If you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for getting it right every time, this role is for you!


What you’ll be doing


  • Follow our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Operational guidelines.

  • Maintaining compliance with our practice standards.

  • Checking dispensed prescriptions and sending out orders via our couriers.

  • Managing the Pharmacy near misses and creating action plans.

  • Working with the Risk and Safety team to root cause and resolve incidents.

  • Working proactively with Service and other internal teams to ensure orders are dispatched in a timely manner.

  • Proactive problem-solving and innovation, contributing towards service development and patient experience.

  • Working with the Pharmacy Manager to train and develop the Pharmacy workforce.

  • Collaborating with the Pharmacy Manager and Supply Chain team to manage inventory.


What we need from you


  • You must be registered with the pharmacy regulator (GPhC).

  • Hold a recognised Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) qualification (or active enrolment in an accredited ACT training programme).

  • Demonstrate high levels of professional expertise.

  • Confident working to strict deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.

  • Have a passion for pharmacy and providing the best care for our customers.

  • Have a love of working collaboratively with a team‑centred approach.

  • Have excellent knowledge of pharmacy operations and provisions of national and local services.

  • Role model communication skills; you will hold excellent face‑to‑face interactions to effectively meet the varied needs of customers and patients in pharmacy.

  • Be flexible in your working hours to suit the needs of the business.
