Job description

We are looking for a GPhC registered ACT for our branch in Portsmouth and Gosport.

You will work under the supervision of the pharmacist to prepare medicines and other healthcare products. The ACT qualification is essential.

Responsibilities:

1. Supporting the branch lead or pharmacist with staff training, management & guidance
2. Dispensing and accuracy checking of prescription medicines including controlled drugs
3. Patient counselling, and provision of information and advice on minor ailments
4. Supporting counter staff with OTC medicines sales, and advice about their safe & effective use
5. Stock control – dispensary medicines
6. Following SOPs and other regulatory requirements, and supporting staff with adherence to this
7. Prescription administrative tasking, including end-of-month submissions
8. Supporting with provision of Pharmacy First services
9. Overseeing email queries throughout the day and answering telephone queries
10. Supporting the pharmacist with general day-to-day management of the pharmacy
