Job summary

Rowlands Pharmacy in Dumfries is seeking a dedicated pharmacist to join our community team. The role suits newly qualified or experienced pharmacists and offers a supportive environment with modern services, including NHS, Private Flu, weight management, and Medipac robotic distribution.

We provide a generous package: 33 days holiday plus bank holidays pro rata (40 with length of service), relocation package available, and a performance bonus up to £5,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Proven experience in a community pharmacy setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical guidelines.
• Provide medication counselling and support to patients, answering questions and addressing concerns.
• Collaborate with doctors and nurses to optimise patient care.
• Conduct medication reviews and ensure safe and effective management.
• Maintain accurate patient records and manage pharmacy inventory.
• Provide immunization services where applicable.
• Advise on over-the-counter medications and healthcare products.
• Participate in health promotion and public health initiatives.

Job title: Pharmacist (This role is suitable for either a newly qualified or experienced pharmacist)

Working Hours: Average of 43 hours per week

Week 1 - Monday to Friday 09:00 - 18:00

Week 2 - Monday to Saturday with a mid week day off

Rowlands Pharmacy is seeking a talented and experienced pharmacist to join our team in the Dumfries Branch. As a reputable and community oriented pharmacy chain, we are committed to providing the highest standard of care to our patients. This branch is staffed with an experienced team including an ACT manager, 6 HCP level trainedproviding an excellent service to the local community in a remote large town. Currently dispensing around 5,000 items per month, this is a relatively quietbranch. As well as providing a variety of services, such as NHS services, Private Flu, weight management etc, this branch also utilises our Medipac robotic distribution technology. This frees up your time to provide the care our patients deserve.
