Job summary

Manpower UK is seeking an experienced Pharmaceutical Project Manager in Ware to drive a major micronizer installation project through installation, commissioning, qualification and handover. You will coordinate Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, and external vendors to ensure on-time delivery and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in pharma project delivery, strong GMP knowledge, and a proven track record managing capital equipment and complex facilities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' Project Management experience in pharma or regulated industries.
• Proven track record delivering capital equipment or manufacturing facility projects.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and operations teams.
• PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of a micronizer installation project from implementation through to operational handover.
• Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, EHS, Procurement, and external vendors.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and resource requirements.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, milestones, and progress reporting.
• Oversee equipment installation activities, commissioning, and qualification support.
• Ensure project activities comply with GMP, safety, and site quality standards.
• Manage post-installation activities including process integration, operational readiness, and handover documentation.
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings and provide regular project status updates to senior leadership.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and issues to ensure successful delivery.
• Support change management and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.

Pharmaceutical Project Manager

Location: Ware, Hertfordshire (4 days onsite per week)
Contract: 2 Years
Rate: £70 - £80 per hour (Inside IR35 PAYE/Umbrella)
Hours: 40 hours per week

We are seeking an experienced Pharmaceutical Project Manager to support the delivery of a major capital equipment installation project at a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Ware. This role will oversee the implementation and integration of a new micronizer system, a critical piece of processing equipment used to reduce pharmaceutical compounds into fine powders for downstream manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving project delivery through installation, commissioning, qualification, and operational handover phases while ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety, quality, and business requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project professional with a strong background in pharmaceutical manufacturing, process engineering, or complex industrial capital projects.

Required Experience

• 10+ years' Project Management experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, chemical, or highly regulated industrial sectors.
• Proven track record delivering capital equipment or manufacturing facility projects.
• Experience managing the installation and implementation of process manufacturing equipment.
• Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies and governance.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and operational teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work within complex regulated environments.

Desirable Experience

• Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience.
• Experience delivering milling, micronization, powder handling, solids processing, or related process equipment projects.
• Knowledge of GMP-regulated environments.
• Understanding of commissioning, qualification, and validation activities.
• Engineering or technical degree qualification.
• Formal Project Management certification (PRINCE2, PMP, APM or equivalent).
