Prospero Newcastle are looking for an experienced educator to work as a tutor for a young person who has been permanently excluded from their education placement. This individual is 15 years old, within the East End of Newcastle, is neurodiverse and struggles with their mental health. This is an excellent opportunity for a caring, empathetic tutor to utilise their skills & make a meaningful difference in the lives of a vulnerable individual.
This young person has a negative view of education, having struggled with their placement prior to exclusion. It will take time to build a rapport and regain their confidence in learning. Being creative and patient is essential to the role.
Tuition focuses on Maths & English as subjects, with a lot of the work focusing on re-integration into a school setting and being a nurturing key adult.
Tuition is typically commissioned for 6 hours per week, usually split into three sessions of 2 hours. We can build up your timetable to accommodate either full or part time hours. Pay rate starts from GBP25 per hour.
