Job summary

Intertek is seeking a chemistry-focused analyst to join our Greys, West Thurrock team, performing sample preparation and testing for petroleum products. You will follow strict SOPs and work on procedures that ensure reliable results.

The role operates on a shift rota (7am–7pm for two days, then 7pm–7am for two days, then 4 days off) and requires collaboration within a multidisciplinary team to meet customer needs and maintain ISO 17025 standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of chemistry with A-level qualifications or above.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures.
• Demonstrated customer service excellence.
• Ability to contribute ideas in meetings and drive innovation.

Responsibilities

• Test petroleum products to ASTM and IP test methods
• Prepare and test sample blends as requested by customers
• Prepare and test quality control samples, calibrate equipment and standardise reagents
• Verify samples to specifications and communicate results
• Make appropriate entries in the required records and systems
• Generate reports for release to customers
• Receive and log in samples for testing on the required systems
• Maintain documentation as required to meet ISO 17025
