Job summary

Berkeley Scott is recruiting for a Catering Assistant based in Peterborough to support school kitchen teams with food preparation, service and cleaning on a temporary basis. Shifts follow school hours with regular, ongoing work and weekly pay.

Whether you are an experienced caterer or new to the sector, we welcome reliable individuals. Enhanced DBS and food safety certificates are desirable, and full support is provided by the Berkeley Scott team to help you start quickly.

Qualifications

• Reliable and punctual, essential for school catering shifts.
• Hardworking and enthusiastic, able to work as part of a team.
• Food Safety Level 2 and Food Allergen certificates preferred or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Preparing food and ingredients.
• Serving meals to pupils and staff.
• Washing up and cleaning.

Job description

Based in Peterborough, the Peterborough School Catering role involves supporting kitchen teams within local schools. Working on a temporary basis, you will assist with food preparation, service, and maintaining cleanliness. The position offers between £12.71 and £14.00 per hour, with holiday pay and weekly payment. Immediate starts are available for reliable individuals, whether experienced in catering or new to the sector. Responsibilities typically include operating till systems, restocking, and ensuring hygiene standards. Shifts align with school hours, offering regular, ongoing work. Berkeley Scott provides full support to staff in this role. Prior experience is beneficial, though a positive attitude toward teamwork and customer service is essential for these school-based positions.
