Job summary

Quantum Scholars is seeking a patient, experienced EOTAS Tutor to provide personalised, one-to-one educational support in Herefordshire. The role focuses on supporting SEND/SEMH needs and rebuilding engagement with education.

Sessions may occur in the young person’s home or another community setting, with a focus on GCSE preparation where appropriate and safeguarding in all activities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with secondary-aged young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
• Experience delivering one-to-one tuition or personalised educational support.
• Understanding of EOTAS, alternative provision or non-mainstream settings.
• Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet individual needs.
• Experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour or disengagement.
• Calm, patient, empathetic and resilient approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored, one-to-one educational support as part of an EOTAS provision.
• Support learning across relevant curriculum subjects and GCSE content.
• Identify gaps in knowledge and develop activities to support progress.
• Adapt teaching methods and pace to individual learning styles and abilities.
• Maintain records, confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.
• Work collaboratively with others involved in the young person’s education and support.
