HR Genie is seeking an experienced Personal Underwriter to join a well-established financial services team in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on underwriting, quotes, renewals, and client service within a regulated environment.

You will issue policies, endorsements, and renewals, while supporting the sales team to retain profitable business. Strong attention to policy standards, documentation accuracy, and client communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in short-term insurance underwriting is required.
• Strong knowledge of underwriting standards and policies.
• Proven ability to provide quality client service.

Responsibilities

• Issue new policies, renewals, and endorsements on the Cardinal 360 system.
• Prepare new business quotes and underwriting files.
• Underwrite in line with standards, policies and procedures.
• Support the sales team in acquiring and retaining profitable business.
• Handle administration and written communications with clients.
• Ensure documents are checked and authorised prior to dispatch.
• Address queries and resolve issues per company standards.
• Negotiate renewal terms and prepare renewal documentation.
• Monitor renewal reviews and retention calculations.
• Correct unprofitable policies and prevent policy overexposure.
• Communicate with clients via phone for amendments and cover changes.
• Save all work electronically and maintain records.
