Join Remedy Education: Personal Care Teaching Assistant - SEN Secondary School (SE15)

Are you a compassionate, resilient, and supportive individual with a passion for working with young people who have complex needs?

Remedy Education is seeking a reliable and dedicated Personal Care Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive and nurturing SEN secondary school in SE15. This full-time role is ideal for someone experienced in delivering both educational and personal care support to students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism, and physical disabilities.

The Role:

Position: Personal Care Teaching Assistant

Location: South East London (SE15)

School Type: SEN Secondary School

Start Date: September 2025

Hours: Monday to Friday - Term Time Only

Pay: £100-£120 per day (dependent on experience and training)

You will support students aged 11-19 with a range of needs, including personal hygiene, feeding, physical assistance, and mobility, while encouraging independence and dignity at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and group support to students with physical, medical, and learning needs

Deliver personal care, including toileting, changing, feeding, and mobility support (training provided)

Support learning across the curriculum and encourage student participation

Assist with hoisting, manual handling, and wheelchair transfers (if applicable)

Monitor and respond to students' emotional and sensory needs

Work closely with teachers, therapists, and medical staff to follow care and learning plans

What We're Looking For:

Experience supporting young people with SEN, particularly PMLD, ASD, or physical disabilities

Comfortable with personal care duties

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
