Support Worker for Young Autistic Man

We are seeking a supportive and patient individual to assist H, a 24-year-old young man with Autism, in developing essential life skills. H enjoys films, going to the cinema, and computer games.

Rate: £14.50 per hour

Additional Details:

• Potential for pay increase following a successful probation period.
• Enhanced DBS clearance is essential.

Working hours: Approximately 8 hours per week, likely in the evenings (after 3 pm) or on weekends.

Responsibilities include:

• Travel and route training to help H access the local community confidently.
• Supporting H to identify and participate in activities of interest.
• Building confidence in social interactions.
• Practicing money management skills, such as paying for items.
• Exploring employment and voluntary opportunities.

Experience supporting individuals with Autism is beneficial but not essential. A willingness to learn about Autism and its challenges is important. The ideal candidate is patient, kind, encouraging, and interactive, promoting H’s independence and skill development.
