Job summary

Encompassborders in Kelso is seeking a compassionate Personal Assistant / Support Worker to help with weekend morning routines in the gentleman’s home. You will support a calm start to the day, handling personal care with dignity and sensitivity.

A gentleman living in Kelso is looking for a kind, reliable, and patient Personal Assistant / Support Worker to provide support with his morning routine at weekends.

The role involves providing practical and personal care support, helping the gentleman start his day comfortably and at his own pace. As he can become fatigued quite easily, a calm and patient approach is important.

Support is required for one hour on Saturday and one hour on Sunday, ideally between 8:00am and 9:00am.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

• Support the gentleman with his morning routine.
• Assist with dressing as required.
• Provide personal care support.
• Apply creams as required.
• Allow the gentleman time to complete tasks at his own pace, taking account of his fatigue levels.
• Provide patient and reassuring support throughout the visit.
• Promote dignity, privacy, comfort, and independence.
• Build a positive and respectful working relationship with the gentleman.

Terms

• Location: Kelso
• Hours: 2 hours per week.
• Working Pattern: 1 hour on Saturday and 1 hour on Sunday, ideally between 8:00am–9:00am.
• Rate of Pay: £14.05 per hour.
• Holiday Entitlement: 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata.
• Probationary Period: 6 months.
• Appointment: Subject to satisfactory references and PVG / Disclosure Scotland check.
