Job summary

PA Network Scotland is seeking a kind and reliable helper to provide 1:1 support for an 18-year-old male with learning disabilities and autism, focusing on activities that promote wellbeing and independence. A love of dogs would be useful as there are two.

The role is based at the employer’s home near Montrose, with hours of 15–20 per week to suit all parties. Driving licence is essential, and a car will be provided for work purposes only.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driving licence and be comfortable driving for work purposes.

Responsibilities

• Morning: assisting with getting up, washing and dressing.
• Preparing and clearing away breakfast.
• Afternoon: preparing, cooking and clearing up lunch.
• Evening: preparing, cooking and clearing up dinner.
• Getting undressed and into bed.
• Other tasks as required throughout the day/evening.
• Driving to outings and activities.
• Taking part in activities such as table tennis or cinema outings.
• Occasional overnight support may be needed.

We are looking for a kind, reliable and trustworthy person to provide some 1:1 support for an 18 year old teenager (male) with learning disabilities and autism, focusing on activities that promote his well being and independence. A love of dogs would be useful as we have two!

Place of Work Based in employer’s home near Montrose.

Hours 15 – 20 hours per week, to suit all parties.

Rate of Pay £13.50 per hour.

Main Duties

• Morning Assisting with getting up, getting washed and dressed.
• Preparing and clearing away breakfast.
• Afternoon Preparing, cooking and clearing up lunch.
• Evening Preparing, cooking and clearing up dinner.
• Getting undressed and into bed.
• Tasks performed as necessary throughout the day/ evening:
• Preparing drinks and snacks.
• Driving to outings and activities.
• Taking part in activities such as table tennis or going to the cinema.
• Occasional overnight support may be needed.
