Job summary

Encompassborders is seeking a kind, reliable Personal Assistant to support an elderly client at home in Peebles. The role involves assisting with meals, mobility, personal care, and bedtime routines on Tuesdays and Fridays, with flexibility for relief shifts. A PVG check is required; 18 GBP per hour; 5.6 weeks annual leave pro-rated.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with teatime: prepare an evening meal and drinks.
• Support getting up, mobilising, and toilets as needed.
• Assist with bedtime routine: wash and nightwear.
• Ensure the client has a drink and mobile by the bedside.
• Secure the house and handover at the end of each visit.

Job description

I am an elderly lady living at home in Peebles, looking for someone to join my small team of Personal Assistants who support me at home with my personal care, allowing me to live as independently as possible.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Teatime – 1 hour around 5/6pm

• Please come in to support with preparing me my evening meal.
• Please support me with getting up from my chair and mobilising through to the toilet, should this be required.
• Please then prepare me my evening meal along with a hot/cold drink of choice.
• Please also prompt me to take my teatime medication, if required.
• Finally, please ensure I have everything I need to hand before securing the house on exit.

Bedtime – 1 hour around 8:30/9pm

• Please come in to support me with getting ready for bed.
• Please help me through to the toilet, allowing me the time, if required.
• Please support me to have a wash and get into my nightwear.
• I will then need supervision to mobilise through to my bedroom for the night.
• Please ensure I have a drink to hand and my mobile phone on my bedside table.
• Finally, please secure the house on exit.
