Job summary

Ceredigion County Council Direct Payment Support Service in Lampeter is seeking a professional Personal Assistant to support a 10-year-old boy with challenging behaviour. Hours are 12 per week term-time and 15 hours during school holidays, with occasional night support.

Qualifications

• Professional Personal Assistant required to provide support to a child at home and in the community.
• Must have patience, empathy and discretion.
• Ability to follow safeguarding protocols and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide support at home and in the community to the client.
• Undertake toileting and personal care tasks if required to ensure comfort.
• Engage in activities that promote learning through play.
• Ensure health, safety and welfare of the client while on duty.
• Keep accurate records of activities, progress and timekeeping.
• Keep the family updated on activities and progress.
• Be aware of safeguarding reporting procedures.
• Carry out reasonable requests as per the care plan.
