Job summary

Pin Point Healthcare in Newcastle is seeking Personal Assistants to support adults to live independently in their own homes and communities. The role offers a permanent contract with shifts 30 or 35 hours per week, and 24-hour on-call support.

Training and development, enhanced DBS, and pension are provided. Typical duties include personal care, cooking, cleaning, shopping, and helping clients access activities.

Qualifications

  • Previous care or support experience is beneficial but not essential.
  • A Level 2 Health & Social Care qualification is desirable, but we are equally interested in candidates with the right values and attitude.
  • A good communicator is important.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Committed to promoting dignity, choice and independence.

We are looking for caring, reliable and enthusiastic Personal Assistants to support adults to live independently in their own homes and communities.

This is a varied and rewarding role focused on helping people maintain their independence, make their own choices and enjoy fulfilling lives.

The Role

As a Personal Assistant, you will provide person-centred support based around each individual's needs, preferences and goals.

Your duties may include:

  • Supporting independence, choice and everyday living skills
  • Providing personal care where required
  • Helping with cooking, cleaning, shopping and household tasks
  • Supporting people to access activities and their local community
  • Providing emotional and social support
  • Supporting health and wellbeing
  • Working with families and healthcare professionals
  • Maintaining accurate records and following safeguarding procedures

Working Hours

Flexibility is required, with shifts potentially including evenings, weekends and bank holidays depending on the needs of the people you support.
