A leading company is seeking Personal Assistants to support a 16-year-old boy with special needs in Gravesend, Kent. Location: Gravesend, Kent
Number of PA roles available: 2
Rate of Pay: £12.21 per hour
Term Time: 10 hours per week
Non-Term Time: 16 hours per week
Work Duties will include:
- Supporting access to local social and recreational activities, such as sports sessions and trips to museums, parks, or leisure centres
- Encouraging and motivating participation in new and familiar activities
- Assisting with baking and other practical life skills at home
- Helping develop daily living and independence skills such as planning outings, using public transport, and handling money
- Supporting the development of social and communication skills
- Promoting confidence and self-esteem through positive reinforcement
- Providing consistent encouragement and emotional support
Other Requirements:
- Establish and maintain effective communication with the young person and their family

Requirements for Applicant:
- Friendly, patient, and energetic
- Reliable, honest, and flexible
- Imaginative and proactive in planning activities
- Experience or understanding of working with young people with special needs, particularly autism, is essential
- Physically fit and able to support active tasks and outdoor activities
- A car & Driving license
- A DBS check will be completed
- Strong verbal communication skills to engage effectively and clearly with the young person
- Ability to support and model appropriate social communication in different settings
- Skilled in de-escalation techniques and managing challenging behaviour calmly and constructively
