Job summary

Self Direct Support Options Fife in Cellardyke seeks a compassionate Personal Assistant for 4 hours per week to support a 31-year-old man with autism and social anxiety. The role starts with in-home support to get to know him and build trust.

Over time you will help him participate in the community, walk his dogs, have a coffee, and enjoy outings beyond the home. A PVG check is required; candidates should be patient, reliable and flexible.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home companionship to the client to help him get to know you.

• Build a positive, patient working relationship and adapt as goals evolve.
• Ensure an enhanced PVG check is completed prior to starting.

We are looking for a befriender companion for our client who is a 31-year-old male, who has autism and social anxiety.

Initially you will be supporting our client to around the house to get to know him. Eventually this will progress in to assisting him to meet his goals of going out into the community, going out with his dogs, for a coffee or further afield.

The ideal applicant is someone who has experience with autism and social anxiety in some form and is patient, friendly and understanding to allow a working relationship to be built up over time.

Applicants must have a caring attitude, have a good sense of humour, be reliable with a positive and flexible approach to work.

This role requires an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
