Job summary

Self Direct Support Options Fife is seeking a Personal Assistant in Kennoway to support a young man in his daily routines. The role covers morning and evening shifts totaling 14 hours per week, with some Friday opportunities to help him stay active in the community. You will work as part of a small team to provide compassionate, patient support.

The ideal candidate is reliable, kind and able to engage in activities, with physical fitness to operate a hoist when needed. PVG check is required.

Personal Assistant - 14 Hours Per Week - Kennoway (SDS/GA/325006)

14 Hours Per Week - Morning – Between 7-7.30 for 2 hours, Evening Between 7 – 7.30 for 2 hours – Days to be negotiated with applicants

We are looking for personal assistants to help an easy going, and happy male, in his early 20s who needs support and assistance to maintain his independence in his daily life. Our client has cerebral palsy and global development delay.

Our client would like support to get him ready for his day in the morning, and ready for bed in the evening. In this role you will be working with another personal assistant as part of a team that is currently being built. There may also be extra hours available on a Friday to assist our client to get out and about into the community.

Our client needs all levels of support. In this role you will deliver personal care, operate a hoist, assist with feeding and drinking, among other tasks. You will also keep him company and be someone he can chat and sing to. The perfect applicant is kind, patient, honest and understanding, and who can offer ideas of fun activities. Due to use of the hoist someone who is physically fit would be ideal.

This role requires an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
