Job summary

Self Direct Support Options Fife in Cellardyke seeks a compassionate Personal Assistant for 4 hours per week to support a 31-year-old man with autism and social anxiety. The role starts with in-home support to get to know him and build trust.

Over time you will help him participate in the community, walk his dogs, have a coffee, and enjoy outings beyond the home. A PVG check is required; candidates should be patient, reliable and flexible.

Qualifications

• Experience or familiarity with autism and social anxiety is preferred.
• Patient, friendly and understanding approach to build trust over time.
• Caring attitude with a good sense of humour, reliable and flexible.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home companionship to the client to help him get to know you.
• Support him to progress toward community activities, dog walks, coffee outings and more.
• Build a positive, patient working relationship and adapt as goals evolve.
• Ensure an enhanced PVG check is completed prior to starting.
