Job summary

Independent Lives seeks a personal assistant to support our 9-year-old son at home and on outings. You will be energetic, patient, and engaging, providing supervision, play, and gentle care during daily activities.

Hours are 2–4 on Saturdays and 2–4 hours during school holidays, with possible additional days. Driving is an advantage; access to own vehicle is helpful. DBS may be required and you must have the right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Entertain child at home and take him to parks.

Job description

We are looking for a personal assistant to support our 9-year -old son. We are looking for someone who is very energetic.

The purpose of this role is to entertain our son at home and take him out to parks, bouncy castle events, swimming and possibly support the family on day trips out.

Duties include

• Other relevant duties as required
• Bathroom assistance
• Taking him out to different places e.g. soft play areas, parks
• Playing with him e.g. jumping, running, climbing, games of chase
• Keeping him safe and supervised at all times.
• Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
• Reliable with good timekeeping
• Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
• Hygienic, tidy and well organised
• Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
• Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
• Honest and cheerful
• Creative
• Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
• Able to always work to high standards of health & safety
• UK driving licence is an advantage
• Access to own vehicle is an advantage

Additional requirements

• Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Notes

All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required. If the role is offered on a self-employed basis, you will be responsible for the cost of your own DBS check.

2-4 Hours every other Saturday and once or twice per week for 2-4 hours in the summer holidays. Possibly during other school holidays as well

Hourly pay rate

£14 per hour - £0.45 per mile when using own car
