About The Role

This role is to support a young male living with his parents in their family home, in Shipston-On-Stour. Current care is provided by his parents, and he has home school education 3 times a week. Personal assistants are needed to provide some family respite. The client is registered blind, has profound learning disabilities, is fully immobile, and suffers from diabetes, epilepsy, and Pokilothermia, a condition affecting body temperature regulation. He requires intermittent oxygen therapy, nebulization, oral suction, and enteral feeding.

Role Responsibilities

• Support with daily living and personal care
• Engage in sensory activities, support emotional well-being
• Be patient, understanding, and interactive, especially during sensory play and activities he enjoys
• Maintain a calming approach, respecting his sensitivities to noise and busy environments

About You

The ideal candidate lives locally, is flexible, and enjoys animals, as the family owns cats and dogs. You should have a caring, calming presence, be enthusiastic, patient, professional, and respectful. A good sense of humor is desirable. Experience with Poikilothermia, oxygen therapy, oral suctioning, enteral feeding, catheter care, epilepsy, or diabetes is preferred but not essential; full training will be provided.

Working Hours and Compensation

Shifts include Sunday, Monday, Tuesday from 4:30 pm to 11:30 pm, with alternate weekend cover of 3 hours for two PAs to provide 2:1 care. Flexibility is required for covering leave and sickness. Pay rate is £13.00/hour, with paid training and comprehensive support.
