Job description

Are you a proactive, highly organised professional who enjoys creating structure, connecting stakeholders and helping senior leaders operate at their best? As Personal Assistant to the Senior HR Director Retail Banking, you will play a key role in keeping the Retail HR agenda running smoothly across countries, leadership forums and strategic people priorities. This is a dynamic role at the heart of a global HR environment, where attention to detail, discretion and strong stakeholder management make a real impact.

The team

Retail HR partners with Retail Banking leaders, country HR teams and central HR specialists to enable the people strategy across Retail Banking. The team supports business priorities across areas including Private Individuals, Business Banking, Private Banking, Wealth Management and Investments, with a strong focus on leadership, talent, learning, performance, recruitment, employee experience and transformation. You will work closely with the Senior HR Director Retail Banking, the Business Manager and the broader Retail HR community, helping to coordinate rhythms, priorities and connections across a fast-moving international environment.

Roles and responsibilities

You will provide proactive, high-quality executive support to the Senior HR Director Retail Banking, ensuring that priorities, meetings, communications and follow-ups are managed effectively. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a complex diary, balancing strategic priorities, global time zones, meeting cadences, travel time, focus blocks and urgent business needs.
  • Coordinating key Retail HR meetings, leadership forums and recurring rhythms, including agendas, materials, logistics, actions and follow-ups.
  • Preparing briefing packs, decision lists and background information so the Senior HR Director is well prepared for meetings and stakeholder engagements.
  • Acting as a trusted point of contact for senior stakeholders, country HRDs, PAs, HR Business Partners, the Business Manager and central HR colleagues.
  • Supporting travel, offsites, visits and event logistics, ensuring a smooth experience from planning through to delivery.
  • Managing approvals, signatures, documentation, distribution lists and shared folders with accuracy, appropriate confidentiality and good file hygiene.
  • Identifying potential blockers early, chasing actions with context and helping the team stay aligned on priorities, deadlines and next steps.
How to succeed

We hire smart people like you for your potential. Our biggest expectation is that you’ll stay curious. Keep learning. Take on responsibility. In return, we’ll back you to develop into an even more awesome version of yourself.

You will be at your best in this role if you are comfortable working independently, building trusted relationships and bringing clarity to a busy senior leadership agenda. We are looking for someone who can:

  • Bring strong organisational judgement to complex diary, meeting and travel planning, anticipating what is needed and adjusting quickly when priorities change.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with senior stakeholders, colleagues and PA communities across countries and functions.
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion, integrity and a strong understanding of confidentiality in an HR environment.
  • Create structure from ambiguity by keeping track of actions, deadlines, materials and decisions in a clear and reliable way.
  • Work confidently with Microsoft 365 and internal systems, using digital tools to collaborate, organise information and improve ways of working.
  • Stay curious, adaptable and positive, with the confidence to challenge constructively and the service mindset to make things easier for others.
