Job summary

Medway Food Partnership is seeking a friendly Personal Assistant to support a wheelchair-using individual in Brompton. The role focuses on companionship, confidence-building in the local community, and fostering independence during outings, including a monthly morning support group activity.

Hours are 3 per week with flexible scheduling; the successful candidate should be chatty, outgoing, a good listener, patient and helpful, and enjoy building positive relationships within the community.

Qualifications

• Experience as Personal Assistant or companion preferred.
• Ability to support independence while respecting client autonomy.
• Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.

Job description

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Personal Assistant to support an individual in their mid-twenties for 3 hours per week with the aim to encourage confidence and enjoyment within the local community while providing companionship and support. The client is a lovely, motivated individual who uses a wheelchair and is able to support their own transfers. They are a big achiever with a great sense of humour and enjoy Lego, TikTok, food and coffee, nature and being outdoors and the colour pink. The hours are flexible and can be arranged to suit both the client and the successful applicant. While afternoons are preferred, the specific day and time can be discussed during the interview. The client is looking for someone who is chatty, outgoing, a good listener, patient and helpful, and who enjoys building positive relationships.
