Job summary

Tameside Council is seeking a dedicated social care professional to support care leavers aged 16 and over. You will work within a proactive team, helping young people plan their futures in budgeting, accommodation, education and employment, while managing a caseload and taking part in duty responsibilities.

Contract Type: Fixed term contract (until 31st March 2027)

Contract Reason: Secondment cover

Salary: Grade G. Scale 23 - £35,570 to Scale 28 - £40,444

Hours Per Week: 36

Base Location: Ashton Old Library, Old Street, Ashton-under-Lyne, OL6 7SG

At Tameside leaving care we work with children in care and care leavers aged 16 - 25 years.

We currently have an exciting vacancy within our team to enable us to continue to build on our success and also bring new experience, knowledge and ideas into the team.

You will be part of a larger team and will work alongside young people, particularly in the areas of budgeting, accommodation, education and employment. The post holder will have a caseload of aged 16 plus young people including care leavers and be expected to participate in duty activities.

There is an expectation that the successful applicant will have significant experience of working with vulnerable young people.
