Job Role: Care Leaver Support Worker

Our goal is to provide support to young people who have left or are in the process of leaving the care of the local authority.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Contributing to the Leaving Care Service to meet the individual and collective needs of young people.
2. Providing personal advisory support to eligible young people, in line with the Children Leaving Act and related regulations.
3. Ensuring comprehensive, regularly reviewed pathway plans for all eligible and relevant children.
4. Supporting care leavers in finding suitable accommodation, education, and employment, and encouraging ongoing contact with the service.
5. Participating in and promoting a responsive service delivery tailored to young people's needs.
6. Maintaining effective communication and contributing to team discussions, reviews, and meetings.
7. Fostering a caring ethos that respects young people's race, culture, disability, gender, and sexuality.
8. Serving as the designated personal advisor for specified young people.

Requirements:

1. NVQ Level 3 caring for children and young people or an equivalent childcare qualification.
2. Knowledge of current legislation, policies, and procedures related to care leavers.
3. Significant experience working with disadvantaged young people.
4. A commitment to the Vision and Values of Liverpool City Council.
5. An enhanced DBS check within the last 12 months or willingness to obtain one.
