Job description

Our Children in Care and Care Leavers service consists of a team of Senior Practitioners, Social Workers, and Personal Advisors (PA) across the Newcastle and Moorlands District of Staffordshire.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside professionals from a range of disciplines, including social workers, probation services, police, accommodation providers, housing, welfare benefits, mental health professionals, substance misuse services, and foundations to employment, to support care leavers on their journey to independence.

Some work outside of core hours will be required.

Main Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for holding a caseload and providing practical support, advice, and guidance, fulfilling the statutory requirements of the Leaving Care Act for our care-experienced young people aged 16-25.
  • Help prepare young adults to ensure they are supported within their journey to independence.
  • Be aspirational and empower young adults to develop skills to prepare them for their futures.
The Ideal Candidate

You must have:

  • Significant experience of working with children/young people.
  • Good communication skills.
  • An ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with other professionals, be solution-focused to achieve the best outcomes for our care-experienced young people.
  • The ability to travel across the county.
