Job summary

UK Fusion Energy Ltd. (UKFE) is seeking a Permitting & Consents Engineer to lead consenting strategies for the STEP programme.

You will work with engineering, environmental, legal and project teams to ensure regulatory requirements are understood, planned for and achieved. You will engage regulators and stakeholders, preparing permit applications and maintaining consent records while contributing to risk assessments and best practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in permitting, environmental consenting, planning, or regulatory compliance.
• Strong understanding of UK environmental and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of permitting and consenting strategies.
• Identify statutory, regulatory and environmental approvals required for project delivery.
• Coordinate the preparation and submission of permit and consent applications.
• Liaise with regulators, government bodies and stakeholders to facilitate approvals.
• Work with project, engineering and environmental teams to ensure compliance in project plans.
• Monitor consent obligations and support ongoing compliance.
• Maintain consent registers, trackers and documentation.
• Contribute to risk assessments and mitigation for permitting.
• Develop processes, standards and best practice for consenting activities.
