Job summary

Drivers Today is recruiting an experienced HGV Class 1 / Category C+E Night Driver for a permanent night-shift role in Telford, Shropshire. You’ll start through Drivers Today for about three months with the aim of a direct permanent contract after probation, offering stability and regular night work.

The job focuses on trunking and shunting, with structured duties and predictable hours. Wages are paid weekly during agency and move to permanent pay rates after conversion, with paid annual leave

Qualifications

Valid HGV Class 1 / Category C+E licence.
Valid Driver CPC.
Digital Tachograph Card.
Previous Class 1 driving experience.
Confidence with trailer coupling and uncoupling.
Trunking or shunting experience preferred.
Good knowledge of drivers' hours regulations.
Reliable attendance and timekeeping.
Comfortable working permanent night shifts.
Professional and safety-conscious attitude.

Responsibilities

HGV Class 1 / Category C+E driving.
Night trunking between depots and hubs.
Shunting and moving trailers.
Trailer collections and deliveries.
Coupling and uncoupling trailers.
Daily vehicle and trailer safety checks.
Completing transport paperwork.
Working closely with the night transport team.
Following drivers' hours and tachograph regulations.
